Celebrating Past Times

Sunday, April 30, 2017

The Geary County Historical Society invites you to join them at ALL of our historic sites featuring activities, demonstrations, and tours! Begin your day at St. Joseph's Church, located along McDowell Creek Rd. This Gothic-Revival style church is a wonderful representation of turn of the 20th century country churches, many of which were built in the same style. At the Spring Valley Historic Site you will be transported back in time to pioneer days and will learn how they lived long ago. On Sunday, visit the Starcke House. The one-story brick structure, for over a century the home of one of Junction City’s prominent merchant families, has been rehabilitated to serve as a “period house museum” in which GCHS furniture and household goods collections can be displayed in a natural setting. After touring the Starcke House, join us at the Museum for "Memories at the Museum," where you can tell us about the fun & games you enjoyed as a child. See "More Details" for schedule of events.
