  1. Celebrating Past Times

    April 29, 2017, 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM @ Spring Valley Historic Site, K-18 & Spring Valley Rd., Junction City, KS 66441

The Geary County Historical Society invites you to join them at ALL of our historic sites featuring activities, demonstrations, and tours! Begin your day at St. Joseph's Church, located along McDowell Creek Rd. This Gothic-Revival style church is a wonderful representation of turn of the 20th century country churches, many of which were built in the same style. At the Spring Valley Historic Site you will be transported back in time to pioneer days and will learn how they lived long ago. On Sunday, visit the Starcke House. The one-story brick structure, for over a century the home of one of Junction City’s prominent merchant families, has been rehabilitated to serve as a “period house museum” in which GCHS furniture and household goods collections can be displayed in a natural setting. After touring the Starcke House, join us at the Museum for "Memories at the Museum," where you can tell us about the fun & games you enjoyed as a child. See "More Details" for schedule of events.

  2. Grease

    April 29, 2017, 7:30 PM @ CL Hoover Opera House, 135 W. 7th St., Junction City, KS 66441

The Junction City Little Theater presents "Grease!" Here is Rydell High's senior class of 1959: duck-tailed, hot-rodding "Burger Palace Boys" and their gum-snapping, hip-shaking "Pink Ladies" in bobby sox and pedal pushers, evoking the look and sound of the 1950s. Head "greaser" Danny Zuko and new (good) girl Sandy Dumbrowski try to relive the high romance of their "Summer Nights" as the rest of the gang sings and dances its way through such songs as Greased Lightnin', It's Raining on Prom Night, and Alone at the Drive-In Movie.
