  1. Kansas Upland Bird Season

    November 10, 2018 - January 19, 2019 @ Statewide

    Limit for Pheasant is 4 per day and Quail is 8 per day. With 112,300 of public hunting lands in the area you should not have any problems finding a place to hunt. 19,000 acres of KS Dept. of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism  Public Hunting Lands surround Milford Lake.  In the northern area of Milford lake you'll find eight wetland cells that range in size from 60 acres to 250 acres for a total of 2,300 acres when pools are full.  On Fort Riley, 71,000 acres of 101,000 acres are managed for multiple use, which includes hunting. Military and general public can hunt on Fort Riley. Special Restrictions are in place. 12,000 acres of KS Dept. of Wildlife, Parks and Tourism  Public Hunting Lands surround Tuttle Creek with an additional 8,000 acres of U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lands open to hunting.   For more information: www.ksoutdoors.com/hunting    For Fort Riley Hunting Information: www.fortriley.isportsman.net

  2. Winter Trap League

    December 1, 2018 - January 31, 2019 @ Geary County Fish & Game

    Winter Trap League will begin December 1st to January 31st (except December 29th & 30) League shooter can shoot either Saturday or Sunday. Each shooter will shoot 50 targets at the 23 yard line. Cost is $12.00 per league shoot, weekly high score will win $25.00. High overall average for league will win $100.00, shoot a heads are allowed. For those that have never participated in a winter league and would like more information you can contact Shirley Allen at shirlallen@centurylink.net.

  3. JROTC Pancake Feed Fundraiser

    December 1, 2018, 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Fraternal Order of the Eagles Aerie 830

    The pancake feed fundraiser for the Junction City High School JROTC from 7 a.m. until noon. It is sponsored by the JCHS JROTC Parent Support Group. All proceeds and donations will assist the JROTC cadets in attending events, and provide supplies for their travel, events and training. The cost for the pancake feed will be $5 for all you can eat pancakes, sausage, plus juice and coffee will be provided. There will be raffle and auction opportunities as well.

  4. Milford Lions Club Pancake & Sausage Breakfast

    December 1, 2018, 7:30 AM - 10:30 AM @ Milford City Building

    The Milford Lions will hold a pancake / sausage breakfast on Saturday from 7:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Milford City Building. A $5 suggested donation will go toward Milford Elementary School and community projects. Beverly Greenwood said those attending are urged to bring used eye glasses.

  5. FOE #830 Annual Christmas Market

    December 1, 2018, 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM @ F.O.E. Bingo Hall

    The Eagles will also host a Christmas Market from 8 a.m. until 2 p.m. in the F.O.E. Bingo Hall. Booth rentals are available at a cost of $10 per table. Booths can include crafts, consultants, antiques & collectables, food and baked goods. Garage sale or flea market items are not wanted. Contact Darlene Gzarnecki at db.great.crafts@gmail.com.   6. 35th Tour of Homes by the Historical and Archaeological Society of Fort Riley

    December 1, 2018, 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM @ CUSTER HOUSE

    Tour of Homes is a wonderful opportunity available for people in the area to tour the historic homes of Fort Riley. The homes are graciously opened by their tenants to the public for viewing while dressed in their holiday best. Participating homes and pictures from previous events can be viewed below. Please note: Tour of Homes not wheel chair accessible. All of the homes on the tour are historic homes that were not built with that in mind. Additionally, is for individuals 12 years of age and older only, those under 12 years of age are not eligible to be admitted into Tour of Homes. Babies under 2 years of age, that can be worn are welcome to attend with mom or dad, but strollers are expressly not permitted. The 2018 Tour of Homes will happen on December 1st from 12 to 4 p.m. Tickets are $13 in advance and $15 the day of event.
